Double Mutant Variant Coronavirus

Coronavirus Mutations
Coronavirus has been with us for more than one year now, and apparently the virus decided to step up the game, again.

Just like RPG element in video game, the Coronavirus mutates into a new variant, Double Mutant.

Doctor and professionals even suggest that this Double Mutant Variant could be more contagious and resistant to vaccines we have now.

● What is Double Mutant Variant?
It's called Double mutant Variant because the Coronavirus has two mutations in the spike protein, which is what the virus uses to stick onto your cells. The Scientist said it has two mutations, which they called E484Q and L452R.

These two have been found separately in other variants, however, not together in a single strain. The E484Q mutation has shown to be less susceptible to neutralizing antibodies, as for L452R been shown to make the virus more transmissible in other variants.

According to the experts, the double mutant variant doesn't lower the effectiveness of vaccines, but it is more contagious. Which is why we need to keep practicing social distancing, and other Covid-19 precautions.
