    Before we go into that topic, let's ask this question. What is "Cancer"? Cancer is an uncontrolled abnormal cell in our body, and it keeps growing. When our body's control mechanism stop working, cancer starts to develop and damages surrounding tissue. 

    The old cells don't die and grow, making new abnormal cells that may form a mass called Tumor. "Oral Cancer", means a cancer that appears in the mouth, which includes lips, tongue, floor of the mouth, gums. Yes, it can be dangerous and life threatening if not treated early.

 Common Oral Cancer Symptoms 

  1. White or reddish patch inside your mouth
  2. Lumps or bumps inside your mouth 
  3. Mouth and or ear pain
  4. Difficult or painful chewing or swallowing 
  5. Mouth bleeding with no explanation

 Factors that can increase risk of Oral Cancer

  1. Smoking and Smokeless Tobacco
  2. Excessive Alcohol Consumption
  3. Human Papillomavirus (HPV) - A sexually transmitted virus
  4. Excessive Sun Exposure

 Oral Cancer Treatment
It's usually depends on the type, stages, and location of the cancer. The way to treat oral cancer are:

  1. Surgery
  2. Radiation Therapy
  3. Chemotherapy
  4. Targeted Therapy Drugs
  5. Nutrition and Immunotherapy
